Model Restoration – Week 18

May 12-15, 2025

We begin the week by defining the height of the pillars/spears, based on the photo’s scale and using the rule of three.

We begin the loggia structures.

We craft hinges from oasis goat leather, attach them to the central doors, and stain them with walnut husk to ensure the leather’s elasticity.

We permanently attach the doors to the model.

We cut the balcony planks for the central section, stain them, and attach them.

We add balsa uprights to the left openwork section to adjust the frame to the structure’s columns, and we stain them.

We add panels to fill the sides of the loggias.

We adjust and hang the frames of the French windows on the first floor of the central section.

We hang the frieze within the thickness of the balcony.

We mold, adjust, stain, and hang the loggia facade friezes; we temporarily place the loggia roofs.

We hang the balcony’s edge frieze on the sides.

Next week’s agenda: roofing.
