Model Restoration – Week 9

February 10 to 13, 2025

We begin the week by demolding some molds.

We are assembling the “dogons” in resin plaster. There must be about forty of them!

The assistance of Thomas de Spoelberch and his meticulousness are invaluable to us. He is crafting “S” and “C” shapes from lightweight wood.

We receive a delivery of doors, which we then adjust and install. We also begin to place the wooden transoms above the doors.

We present our progress to Diane Hennebert, including the castings of the complex “dogon” parts. Together, we decide to make only the front doors operable. We also jointly decide to leave the structures beneath the roofs as they are and to complete them.

Gwenaëlle continues with the printing. We are continuing to stain the doors.

We begin to reproduce the missing parts of the roofs using cardboard, in order to create templates that we will transfer onto wood.

By the end of this week, five doors have been adjusted.
